Sony’s new full-frame mirrorless camera, the A7 II, has now been confirmed as being available to purchase in the US from in early December.
Pricing has also been confirmed at $1,700 for the camera body only, or at $2,000 with a 28-70mm kit lens included.
The new Sony A7 II has a range of improvements over the previous model, the headline feature being a new 5-axis image stabilisation system that works with any lens that is mounted to the camera body. This offers up to 4.5 stops of compensation. There is a new autofocus system that is claimed to be 30% faster, and offer up to 50% better tracking ability.
The Sony A7 II’s body design has been improved, with more magnesium alloy used in its construction, and a redesigned grip. The original Sony A7 will still be available, that is now priced at $1,299 for body only, or $1,599 with a kit lens.
