In this showcase series we feature the portrait photography of Idan Barazani.
Idan, can you tell us a little about your photographic background?
My Name is Idan barazani, I am 20 years old, and born in Israel, Jerusalem. I have always loved photography and video-art and mostly everything that includes spreading your idea through the media. I bought my camera when I was 17 and I worked really hard to get it.
I started by taking some pictures of my friends, and I really liked the idea of creating something on my own and connecting with the models in different ways, and to the emotions on the set.
Can you tell us more about this portrait series?
“Hiding” is one great word to give to this portrait series. whether it relates to me hiding from things around or the models hiding in different situations. I think we all have those things we are not really proud of, but not because of ourselves, rather because of the society around us.
My inspiration comes from books I read, movies, walking in the street, talking to people and situations and conditions that affect me emotionally.
What equipment did you use for this series?
My equipment is very basic. I use a Canon 550D and work with 18-55 zoom and a 50mm f1.8 prime lens. I can’t really afford switching to another equipment.
I have learned how to work with my basic equipment very well, and it is effective and gives good results for me. I am happy for that, because I can manage and control a lot of things when I work with Photoshop.
