After Flickr’s relatively recent redesign, 500px have responded with a makeover all of their own. With a focus on the images, and a more minimal and clutter-free approach than Flickr, I think 500px have done an excellent job with this, and will appeal more to genuine photography enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Below is a screenshot of the new photo page, the big change here is the social media sharing options are more prominent, but don’t distract from the main image.
The new focus view feature is a welcome addition to the 500px experience, to enter this mode simply the ‘H’ key on your keyboard. Once you are in this mode you can skip through images using the left or right arrow keys, or maximise the image by pressing ‘M”.

All in all this redesign from 500px is an evolution, rather than revolution, and I think it is all the better for it. When you also consider the excellent mobile apps available, 500px is surely the best photo-sharing option out there right now.
